Welcome to Part 4! If you are just starting, you can go from here or head back to Part 1 and start there.
- Think on These Things Challenge, Part 1
- Think on These Things Challenge, Part 2
- Think on These Things Challenge, Part 3
- Think on These Things Challenge, Part 4 (you are here)
I hope you have been enjoying this challenge. Really try to challenge yourself on committing these verses to memory. It’s not easy, but it’s so worth it. When we have Scripture memorized, the Lord will bring a verse to mind exactly when we need it. And, by focusing on these verses, we are meditating on God’s precious Holy Word. Truly, we are “thinking on these things.”
Let’s go over the next four verses in the challenge!
Bible Verse (TTT) Challenge, Part 4
Verse #13
I Peter 5:7 KJV
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
God cares for you. We are nothing when compared to the goodness of God, yet God cares for us. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for my sins and your sins. Why a wonderful God so great and powerful would care for me doesn’t make sense to my mind. Thankfully, it doesn’t have to make sense to be true.
This verse tells us to cast ALL of our cares upon God. If we give God all of our burdens, we don’t have to be troubled by them. God will always handle the situation perfectly. We can rest in perfect peace knowing that God cares for us.
Verse #14
Philippians 4:9 KJV
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
For this verse, I recommend going back and reading the beginning verses of Philippians 4. Some of the things Paul mentioned in the previous verses are the following:
- Rejoicing in the Lord
- Praying to God for all things
- Thinking on things that are pure, lovely, etc.
We learn in verse 9 that we are to do these things that Paul has demonstrated in his own life and talked about. When we do those things, our God will be with us. Paul specifically calls God “the God of peace.” I love knowing that my God brings peace, and there is no peace like the peace that God gives.
Verse #15
Psalm 46:10 KJV
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
This is one of my personal favorite verses in the Bible. How often do we actually stop in today’s society? Not too often. We always have something to do. If we don’t have something happening, we quickly fill in that time slot with another activity or by browsing social media on our phones.
According to this verse, we need to stop and simply be still. When we are still, we give the Lord a chance to speak to us because He speaks in a still, small voice. The world wants to drown out that voice.
Our society tells us that being busy means being successful, but not according to the Bible. The Bible talks about being diligent, but then as in this verse, talks about being still.
If you stand still in God’s Creation for just a moment of time, you can’t help but know there is a God. By always staying busy, the world tries to convince themselves that there is no accountability and there is no God. God continues this verse by declaring that He will be exalted among the heathen and in the earth. All Creation will worship God in the end. We serve an Almighty God.
Verse #16
Isaiah 33:6 KJV
And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
It’s important for us to seek wisdom from God’s Word. As this verse says, wisdom and knowledge is our stability, and our salvation is our strength.
The last part of this verse tells us that the fear of the LORD is our treasure. This fear isn’t referring to being afraid of God but rather a reverence towards Him. Why is the fear of the LORD our treasure? Psalm 33:18 says,
“Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;“
When we honor God, He looks out for us. If you want God taking care of you, honor Him with your life.
God Is There for Us
God is our strength. He is always there for us, and He will take care of us if we just trust Him. Knowing that God cares for us and is willing to protect us should bring peace and joy to your soul. This month, let’s focus on God’s love and care for us. Let us always remember that He will take care of us. In every trial, in every heartache, He will take care of you.
