Bible Verse (TTT) Challenge, Part 11
Verse #41
Psalm 19:14 KJV
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
In this verse, the Psalmist declares his desire to for not only his words but also the thoughts of his heart to be pleasing to God.
Matthew 12:34b says, “… for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” We speak what is in our hearts, so if we want our words to please our Father, we must meditate on Godly things. This verse points back to the basis of this challenge: Think on These Things. When we are dwelling on righteous thoughts, are hearts and words can be righteous and well-pleasing to our God.
Verse #42
Philippians 2:14 KJV
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Rejoicing is not hard when everything is going fine. But, when trouble creeps (or leaps) in, it’s easy to gripe and complain. We must take our burdens to the LORD and leave them at the altar. We are not supposed to pick them back up and take them home once we finish praying. And, yes, I realize that is so much easier said than done. With God’s help, we can learn to praise in the good and the bad.
Verse #43
Psalm 1:6 KJV
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
The LORD has a perfect plan for each of our lives as Christians. He will guide us through life if by faith we allow Him to. The verse also says that “the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Sometimes, sin may seem appealing, but that fun is not lasting. For God says they will perish. Don’t allow sin to distract you from doing right. God has a perfect plan for you.
Verse #44
I John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
This verse is an often-needed kind of verse. We can rest in the wonderful forgiveness of our Saviour. When we confess our sins, God is “faithful and just.” He not only forgives our sins, but He completely washes it away. God completely wipes the sin away.
Let’s say you were to take a pencil and paper and write down your sins. Forgiving our sins is like erasing the words off of the paper. But, you can still see where that sin was. When God cleanses us, He gives us a fresh, new page. Once confessed, God won’t remind you of that sin because He washes it completely away. We serve an Almighty God!
