- Think on These Things Challenge, Part 5 (you are here)
We’re already on Part 5 of this 12-part challenge! At the end of this month, we will have twenty encouraging verses committed to memory. If you are struggling to memorize the verses, don’t worry, you’re not alone! Just focus on one verse each week.
You can try putting your weekly verse somewhere you will frequently see. Whether that is your Bible, mirror, desk or even your refrigerator, seeing God’s Word repeatedly throughout the day will help you keep your focus on the things of God. Hopefully, if you read it every time you see it, you will have it memorized in one week.
Here are the next four verses in the challenge!
Bible Verse (TTT) Challenge, Part 5
Verse #17
I Thessalonians 5:18 KJV
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
God tells us to give thanks in every thing. Some situations are easier to give thanks in than others. But, we are to give thanks in all things. When I start thanking God for what He has done for me and my family, my heart is uplifted with praise and adoration for our wonderful Saviour. My heart shifts its focus from the hard things to all the blessings that I have. When you are feeling down or when you are doing great, remember to stop and thank God for all He has done.
Verse #18
Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
This verse is talking about our needs here on earth. It’s easy to become wrapped up in the “how can we afford this?” cycle. But, God says to seek His kingdom and His righteousness first. When we seek Him, He will ensure all of our needs our met. He will supply each and every one of our needs.
It’s common to think that if I tithe to the local church, I won’t be able to afford what my family needs. However, we can’t afford not to. If our focus is on Heaven and God’s goodness, He will always take care of us.
Verse #19
Romans 8:28 KJV
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
This verse is such an encouraging verse to me! Do you love God? If you do, God promises that ALL THINGS work together for good. You lost your job? God has a higher plan. The world seems to be falling apart? Again, God has a higher plan.
My family is going through some hard things right now. It’s incredible to know that God has a perfect plan. All of our trials are working together to make something good. God knows what is best for my family and yours. It’s not always easy to trust God, but the peace that comes from trusting God is indescribable. If you haven’t ever experienced God’s peace, give your life to God today and let him take the reins.
Verse #20
Proverbs 8:35 KJV
For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.
Finding God is not hard. He is there for anyone who wants to trust Him. When we trust in God as our Saviour, He gives us true eternal life. God wants you to have eternal life with Him. Have you ever trusted in Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour? It’s not hard. It is as simple as accepting His gift of salvation. You can read my personal salvation story. And if you have any questions about how to go to Heaven or salvation, please leave me a comment.
God Has a Perfect Plan
God’s plan is always perfect. We just have to trust Him. No matter the circumstance or situation we may face, God’s way is perfect. All things will work together for good when we love and trust in God. It’s natural to see the bad in everything, but when we take it to God, He can show us the good. We might not see the good now, but it is there. We may not even see the good until we’re in Heaven, but I can guarantee you that God’s Word is always true.
