Welcome to Part 6 of this 13-part challenge! I can’t believe we’re already halfway through this challenge. Time has really been flying for our family.

When I was a young child, it seemed as if I would always be a kid. I don’t really know what happened, but I hit about fourteen years old, and time began speeding by so fast. Having my own children now makes time go by ten times faster.

I don’t want to allow time flying to be an excuse to lose focus on the most important things. It is so easy to get wrapped up in daily life and forget to even thank the Lord for His blessings. This challenge is all about thinking on the things of the Lord. If we’re determined to seek the Lord, we will find Him.

Let’s take a look at the next four verses in the challenge!

Bible Verse (TTT) Challenge, Part 5

Verse #21

John 1:12 KJV
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

This verse is a wonderful verse for assurance of salvation. God tells us that those who receive Him are given the power to be His child. What a wonderful gift! We can be 100% sure of our Heavenly home through the saving power of Jesus Christ.

Verse #22

Proverbs 16:32 KJV
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

I am trying to work on the principles in this verse. As a mom with a spirited one year old and a newborn, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and overly frustrated at small things. Then, major guilt hits that I allowed something so small to get me so worked up. Arr! I want to be the best mom I can be, so I am prayerfully working on becoming a mom who is slow to anger.

Verse #23

1 John 4:18 KJV
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

With God’s love, we have no need to fear. This verse says perfect love casteth out fear.

Often, different situations will cause us to fear. But with God on our side, we don’t need to fear. Our Almighty God is full of love. He doesn’t want us to fear the unknown. We just have to trust Him.

Verse #24

Psalm 31:3 KJV
For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

God is our rock. When I think of a rock, I picture a strong foundation. God is our stability through the good and the troublesome times.

When I think of a fortress, I imagine a safe place. Imagine with me: playing tag as a child. Remember, base? If you could just make it to base, you knew you’d be safe, as long as you stayed on base. The same is true with God. When you go to God, you will be safe. You can be sure that God will care for you.

God Sustains Us

I’m so thankful for an all-powerful God. He promises to love us and protect us. God is Almighty, and yet He cares for us. We can rest safe in the arms of Jesus. We know whatever happens and wherever life takes us, He will lead us and guide us each step of the way. Let’s keep our eyes on Him.
