Welcome to Part 7 of this 13-part challenge! This challenge is over halfway through already!
This month, I’m reminded of the greatness of God. If you stop and think on the wonders of God, it is mind-blowing. God has given us so much to be thankful for. His greatness is beyond our comprehension. Seeing how great He is should give us peace no matter the circumstances we face.
These next four verses are about the greatness and goodness of our God. Let’s read through the next four verses.
Bible Verse (TTT) Challenge, Part 7
Verse #25
1 Samuel 12:24 KJV
Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
God deserves all glory and honor. We can’t repay God for the great things He has done for us, but we can honor Him, love Him, and serve Him.
This verse says to not only serve Him, but to serve Him with all of our heart. When you are passionate about something, it shows. If someone has a passion for quiltmaking, the quilts themselves will show this. A passionate quiltmaker will spend hours and hours working on cutting fabric, sewing together pieces, quilting the layers together, and adding the perfect border as a finish. When you see that quilt, you’ll know someone who loves quiltmaking crafted that beautiful quilt. We should be so passionate about serving God that others can see that passion in our service for Him.
Verse #26
Psalm 90:2 KJV
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
I’ve loved this verse since childhood! Read through it again, and really focus on the meaning behind the words.
Before God created the mountains or formed the world, God has been. From everlasting to everlasting, God has been and will be. We serve the most High God! What a privilege it is to serve our everlasting Father.
Verse #27
Ephesians 1:7 KJV
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Let’s work through this verse backwards.
“According to the riches of his grace” – God’s grace is so great we could never understand it.
“The forgiveness of sins” – God’s grace is so great that He is willing to forgive us of our sins.
“In whom we have redemption through his blood” – God’s grace is so great that He will forgive you of your sins and grant you salvation through His saving blood.
While service towards God is important, there is no redeeming act of service. To have salvation, we simply have to accept his gift. He died on the cross and shed His blood to spare us from the second death. But, we must trust in Him to receive His simple gift of redemption.

Verse #28
2 Peter 1:21 KJV
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
We will never have to wonder whether the Bible is true or not, because God wrote the Bible. God cannot and will not lie.
This verse clearly reminds us that man did not write the Bible. God used men who loved Him very much to write the Bible. God did the dictating, they just did the writing. Think about a secretary. If a secretary types a letter that his or her boss dictated, whose letter is it? Well, the boss’s of course. The secretary did the literal writing, but that does not make it their letter. That’s how the Bible was written. God told men what to write, and they did. It’s still God’s Word, and God’s Word is infallible.
(That illustration was 100% stolen from my dad, but it’s a really good illustration.)
God’s Greatness
I am so thankful that I get to serve an Almighty God. What a privilege it is to serve Him! God gave His only Son to die on the cross for us. We can never thank God enough, and we can never serve Him too much. When we truly ponder the greatness and great grace of God, we will want to serve Him with our whole lives. We don’t belong to ourselves; we belong to Him.
