Walmart & Amazon Baby Registry Gifts – Unboxing

One of the perks of baby registries is the free registry gift that will sometimes come with them. Typically, these gifts aren’t anything too fancy, but it can be fun to receive anyway. Here’s an “unboxing” and comparison of two different baby registry gifts: Walmart and Amazon.

My favorite part of the Amazon baby registry is the completion discount. You can use your completion discount up to 60 days before or after your baby’s due date. It can be used on two different orders giving you a 10% off discount (15% off for Prime members) on all completion discount eligible items. This a great way to save money on items you are going to be buying either way. Learn more by signing up for an Amazon baby registry.

How to Get Your Registry Gifts

Walmart

First off, to get your Walmart registry gift, you simply sign up for a baby registry, and use your registry link to sign up for a free baby box.

Amazon

To receive an Amazon registry gift, you must create an Amazon registry, complete most of your registry checklist, have a Prime membership, and purchase at least $10 of products off of your registry.

Free gift? That’s debatable.

Unboxing the Registry Gifts

Walmart

My Walmart registry gift came in a cute little box.

Here’s what was included in mine:

  • Gerber oatmeal baby cereal
  • Huggies size 1 diapers
  • Baby Dove baby wash
  • Johnson’s wash and shampoo
  • Ziploc plastic container
  • Aquaphor diaper rash paste sample
  • Milestone cards
  • Various coupons and adverts
Amazon

My Amazon registry gift came in a pretty reusable tote bag.

Here’s what I received:

  • Balmex sample
  • Aquaphor sample
  • Dreft laundry detergent
  • Cetaphil baby wash & shampoo
  • Baby Bum coconut balm
  • Glad Flex’nSeal quart storage bags
  • Philips Avent baby bottle
  • Nanobébé pacifier
  • WaterWipes
  • Huggies size 1 diapers
  • “A Gift for You” which contains matching hat, socks, and mittens
  • Various coupons and adverts

Comparing the Two Registry Gifts

Overall, I feel like the Amazon registry gift had slightly higher value. But, Amazon does make you jump through more hoops to receive your welcome box, so I feel like that is fitting. For me, the one thing that really increased the Walmart gift box value was the milestone cards. Those were a nice touch.

Of course, you never know exactly what you will receive in your registry gifts. However, I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got in mine and happy registering!
